On the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah, pilgrims travel from Mina to Arafat, marking the most crucial pillar of Hajj. They combine the Dohr and Asr prayers and spend the day on and around the hill, invoking Allah until sunset.

This day is often compared to the Day of Judgment, as all people will be equal, awaiting judgment without distinction.

It is also on this mountain that the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) received the revelation of verse 3 from Surah 5 (Al-Ma’idah):

“Today, I have completed your religion for you, and I have perfected My favor upon you, and I have chosen for you Islam as your religion.”

Additionally, the Prophet (alayhi salat wa salam) said, “Hajj is Arafat,” as reported by Tirmidhi. Thus, standing at Arafat is essential for the validity of Hajj.

After completing the rituals at Arafat, pilgrims proceed to Muzdalifah, where they perform the Maghrib and Isha prayers.
